What’s new with the MBox 2 Pro New Pro Tools Plug-in Antares Auto-Tune 5

Digidesign announces Mbox 2 Mini

In iPod fashion, Digidesign announces yet another Mbox 2, the Mini. And with a list price of only $329, making it the cheapest Pro Tools LE compatible interface, it’s the bicky bomb. It’s features…

Mic Input: One balanced XLR jack (with 48V Phantom Power)

Line/DI Inputs: Two unbalanced 1/4″ jacks with independent gain controls

Monitor Outputs: Two 1/4″ unbalanced jacks

Headphone Outputs: One 1/4″ stereo jack

Supported Sample Rates: 44.1, 48 kHz

Maximum Word Length: 24 bit

Host Connection: One USB 1.1 type B jackHeight: 1.75 inches / 4.44 cm

Width: 5.0 inches / 12.7 cm

Depth: 6.0 inches / 15.24 cm

Weight: 1.12 lbs / 508 grams

If you’re rollin in the dough I’d go with Digidesign’s HD setup, but if you’re still up-and-comin I’d go with the Mini. Especially if you have only one stereo instrument (an MPC, or a keyboard) and/or a Mic. If I had to do it over again I’d have started with this. And with it hitting stores in December you can put it on your Christmas list… or Hanukkah list… or Kwanzaa list.
