I have the utmost respect for all of you as producers, but when are we gonna get back to a contest that’s about the MUSIC? I don’t have access to “Quality Recording Software” I can’t afford to book a Public performance. I’m a damn good emcee, but as soon as I was ready to try getting my music out, and almost exclusively with Jee Juh beats, the nature of the Contests changed. I know you guys are a business and you have to cater to many different Demographics. Dancers, Musicians, Video editors, and us emcees, However the switch from a Music Contest to a Video Contest cut out the group that these contests mean the most to. those of us who DON’T have the ability to release an influential video. Or who DON’T have access to studio grade recording gear. That’s what these contests are supposed to be for, giving people the elements they need (Money, Instrumentals, etc.) to gain access to that kind of quality. If I could set up a public performance large enough to win this contest, I wouldn’t need the help that this contest would afford me. My group, RareFaction and I, feel we’ve been left behind. Your site is your Prerogative, and your Business is just that, YOUR business. But I thought as a huge fan of all of your work, you could find something to appreciate in my feedback. I’m still Spitting to almost nothing but Lightner and Epistra, but discovery seems less and less probable every day, so I’m going to stop rapping proportionately less in general. It was a fun ride.
Nothing but respect,

Thanks a lot for the feedback, it means a lot to us!

I totally see where you are coming from, and I feel like Jee Juh has always been about the upcoming artists from day one. We will try to have some more contests in the near future that are more focused on just the music.

I see where you are coming from. i could have set up my own public show that month or anytime and even tho i could have set it up dosent mean winning this competition wouldnt have help me out a ton with beats, money and etc. i dont have the money to throw down on beats all the time. i got to work for my own.
You shouldn’t say you cant do it man. anything is possible.
Just because some emcees can get a show together and get it filmed dosent mean they got it easy. there is the ones who dont get everything handed to them by mommy and daddy and are out here trying to get it every chance possible

If your worried about being discovered and famous you will never be discovered or famous. Gotta do it cause you love it or you want to do it. I rap because its something i like doing could give a shit less about being discovered or famous. Keep rapping spectre just cause being discovered is a low probability shouldnt determine if your going to continue or not.

Thanks for the response Mike, and to clarify, i still think what you guys do is dope beyond all recognition. This is still my favorite Production group, so there’s no offense or blame intended. To Jay, I’ll never stop spitting completely. “The illest of sins is forgetting why you still in the biz” being an artist is rarely lucrative though. The dream is to get paid to do what you love, but getting paid to do what you hate so that you can do what you love is acceptable, you know? It was just an, admittedly drunken, realization that rap consumes too much time and effort for me to continue at the pace I do. It’s not about the fame, it’s about the exposure. Of the music, not of myself. I’ve never written something that didn’t convey a point or ideal that I would share with the world if possible. That’s what I want noticed. The decision to spend more time doing “constructive” things, and less rapping, was a coming to terms with the idea that maybe you can’t just change the world. Haha, I’ll probably write a song about it for the irony. Thank you very much for your support and insistence that I continue practicing the art, I agree, an emcee that can just drop rap was never an emcee, and nobody should quit what they love. It’s a matter of funding the hobby now.
