You might be surprised on how they got so ridiculously rich… But no matter where they started or how they were brought up, you can’t help but to be impressed by looking at them now. There’s really no limit to how far you can go if you really put your mind to it.

How hard are you willing to work to achieve the success that these rappers have? The path’s been laid out for you already… check out how exactly how they did it, along with their biographies below:

Diddy dropped out of Howard University in 1989 and started his career in the music industry as a talent director at Uptown Records. Later, he began his own personal rap career, producing and collaborating with stars such as Mary J. Blige and The Notorious B.I.G. along the way. However, most of his wealth comes through his clothing line–Sean John, his record company–Bad Boy Records, and his Vodka ownership–Ciroc Vodka. Although Diddy is still involved with rap music, he focuses much of his time on his other businesses and investments. P Diddy is currently 42 years old.

Is Just Rapping Enough to get Mega Rich?

There is a distinct characteristic that the top 3 richest rappers all possess that separates them from the other seven artists. Even though they all have created great music themselves, they acquired most of their wealth through investments in other business. Clothing lines, headphones, record labels… All these things started with their music production, but they continued to branch out and take risks even after they achieved musical success.

One other thing to notice is that the top 3 richest rappers are all over 40… Is it possible for a young rapper in their 20′s to ever take the #1 spot on this list?
