Help with Audacity 1.3 Beta (file conversion)

Audacity is completely basic with very little room for perfecting a track. And there are plenty of programs out there for download so if you cant find it, you just aren't dedicated enough to look hard and is probably a reflection of the music you produce. You can download Adobe Audition 3 if you have Vista, Cool Edit Pro 2.0 if you have XP, Cakewalk, Mixcraft etc etc. for free. The legality is another question.

I'm already planning on shit-canning Audacity, but for the time being, I have some stuff on there that I'd like to save to my computer before I do. Just some vocals, I'm not using Audacity for anything else ATM, and all I'm doing is basic shit right now. Hence my query.

I guess I just haven't unzipped the file correctly? Nobody uses Audacity here? This is whack, I can't export files.

Yeah man, I did all of that. I installed and uninstalled the LAME encoder a dozen times. Still can't export files, in fact Audacity keeps prompting me to download it(see my first post) every time I try. I'm starting to see what dude up there meant about it being a piece of trash, but I mean there has to be a way for this to work...

you need to download: Lame encoder, then its simple

try > Save as... > MP3 and not export > MP3

yo..toss that shit...u want somethin free..download Reaper...the trail version has no difference than the one u buy so just download the trail and use that..it will ask u to buy it all the time..just dont..it will still work..and the rendering is much better than Aupieceofshit!
