Spragga Benz has officially introduced Bambi as the
"First Lady" of the Red Square crew and with that is a brand new release called
"Money Talk".
In her own words Bambi states,
"Without confidence in self you're twice defeated in life"
Which is a motto she lives by and that which drives her to become a success in this male dominated business.Novrica Mercedes Powell aka "Bambi" was born in Brooklyn, NewYork and was raised in Willodene, Spanish Town,Jamaica from she was 4 months old until she turned 5 years old. After returning to the U.S. she continued to visit Jamaica during her summer breaks. During those visits she started developing a growing interest into her Reggae Roots thorugh singing and dancing to hit Reggae and Dancehall music from that period. According to Bambi, some of her musical inspirations were Lady Saw, Patra, Janet Jackson, Erykah Badu among many others. As she got more into Dancehall she got inspiration from listening to Spice, Macka Diamond, Tanya Stephens,Queen Penn and other Hip Hop and Alternative Rock Groups.Bambi was first discovered in 2005 by an audio recording engineer named Afrikan in Brooklyn, NY. Her first hit single "Bad Gal Forward, Bad Gal Pull-up" was a phenomenon in New York and the world during 2006. Since then, she performed in various venues among some of her influences, such as Major Mackrel, Junior Demus, Sister Charmaine, Shinehead, and Spragga Benz. Spragga Benz has deemed her as the "First Lady" of "Red Square" .Spragga Benz also featured her in his "Pon Di Willy" video where she showed her dancing abilities.Currently, she's working with some of today's top Reggae Dancehall Producers. Look out for her upcoming single entitled "Tan Tuddy" produced by Jah Snowcone off the "South Bronx" riddim compilation. As Bambi stated in one of her song's "Anything is possible, nuh tell me seh me cyah" which is why she continues to promote herself as a Disc Jockey along with four other females of the leading female Sound System Vybz Ladyz. Playing her own music is just a starting point to making it to the top as a Artistee. According to Bambi her mother always told her "Any path with no obstacles probably doesn't lead anywhere".With hard work, determination and God in her heart,Bambi will achieve her dream and become one of todays top female DeeJays even with the obstacles placed before her.
