Mastering songs with Mixcraft.

Okay i have Mixcraft 4.5. No extra VST's at the time except Autotune. My mic isnt bad, but it doesnt come out to the quality i want it.

Can anyone give me some tips on how to master songs good? Maybe give me links and whatnot to good VSTs', and tell me the technique.

Yeah i know its shitty. But its VERY simple to work with. And i dont wanna buy another program.

u need to search online for free vst's and things homie if u cant find any let me know i kow a few links i can give u

also i do have vst's im not able to give u biut ask nicely and i might bro

try using samplitude aswell
cos its a good programme and its what i use

download adobe audition 3 it has a 32 bit mixer far better than mixcraft mixcraft is just a step big than audacity very basic record program

idk man i used mixcraft and didnt get good results but even with protools if you dont know how to mix then its gonna sound like shit but if u can mix then mixcraft will be good 4 you

lil'c - Ive searched "free vsts'/plugins" many of times. I always end up downloading ones that arent good. Maybe you can give me the links to your good vst's ?

exodusthegreat - Ive tried AA3. Its kinda difficult for me. And im very impatient with this stuff lol, thats why i like Mixcraft.

duc3 - Thanks for the reply, ill add you on aim and hit you up when you get on. But i know its not my mic nor me. Cause i used to have someone produce/master my vocals fpr me, and they came out amazing..

there's no such thing as magic Vsts - if you find one that seems magic, then you are taking shortcuts that will bite you on the ass later on.

effects are for polishing - tracking is where u get the sound you want

try to get closer to the sound you want just by moving the mic around the room, and the booth - changing the position relative to the vocalist - try a making a new booth etc..

treat the mic as the thing you want to get right - not the vsts - also try switching your performance

what kind of mic are you using? is one of those webcam/karaoke mics or is it a condenser mic with a preamp?

Its just a vocal microphone. Dont know if its condenser or not.

But i know i can get good quality out of it. Someone used to master my vocals, and they came out so clear and legit. So i know its possible...

i doubt most people here can hear the sound difference in summing engines used amongst various daws without knowing how to do the proper tests and have studio reference monitors. your either need to get to know your daw better, need to get a better mic/sound interface/preamp, improve your delivery and mic placement.

if you dont have a xlr mic preamp with phantom power i doubt its a condenser mic.

I GOT MIXCRAFT 3 AND SELF LEARNED HOW TO MIX DOWN FOR THE PAST THREE YEARS NOW ....... YOU START GETTING THE HANG OF IT ONCE U MESS WITH THE FILTER AND EQ BY YOURSELF ... DONT CHOOSE EFFECTS ALREADY THERE UNLESS FLANGER OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT ...... I HONESTLY MIX DOWN TRACKS RATHER QUICK ... cut alot of the blank shit u dont need if u do it right the sound willl be better and it depends on where your mic is which was already stated
