lol you got 80 grand to blow and you have no clue about equipment? i mean how do you plan on running a studio when you got to ask what you need. you should spend some of that money to take some coarses.

we go all the basics i mean advancing it
So by basics you got, Interface, mic, and monitors?
If you dont have a vocal booth build it. make sure you get soundproof.
If you want to get a music stand so the person doesnt have to hold the lyrics.
I agree with det on this. Get some of that go to a community college or whatever
and take Audio Production Class. They teach about mixing composing ect ect.
Suggestion for products.
Get a Macbook, or Imac, or a Mac desktop.
Also get Logic or Pro tools..Best software.
Get a Neumann, Blue, AKG (Solid Tube, or 4000), Audio Technica. With mic over 300 for best quality.
I heard a Drawmer S2 Signature Compressor is good.
Also heard that the Soundcraft M Mixers are good
My friend has the KRK Rokit Powered 6 Generation monitors and he said that they are awesome.
And if your getting a midi well m-audio is best bet.
Good luck with you studio
L0GiC is something that should come to mind!
LOL DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT GET A "mac book"
are you going to be recording studio or you going to lease it out to producers to make beats aswell?
i'll give you list of some of the ideal eqquipment and you can go from there...
Mac Pro Quad-Core (you'll still want an external hard drive, consider a terrabyte)
KRK Rokit Powered 5 G2 Monitors (there are better head phones ou there)
Digidesign Digi 002R Rack
Mackie Big Knob Studio Command System (works excellent/ must have)
with a mic obveously the more expensive the better. but with a good compressor and sound proofing you can buy a cheaper mic.
i prefer two monitors than one. allows the mixing process to go faster.
-of course when you talk to the suppliers ask about all the cables. and no to mention a desk for all this.
software is basic.
Protools 8 (at the end of the year most major recording studios will be switching from 7.3HD to 8HD.) the hd makes a difference but for a starting up studio not really.
reasons (thats a beat making program)
Life's A Journey I Chose To Walk With The Reaper
thanks everyone we already have the building plans made up 100% sound proof all equipment that we have already is in storage and now that i have more things to add to my list i get to go shoppinggotta be the best part lol and ill be renting it out once in awhile because when you start up you need that extra cash so if theres anyone in my area on here when its up and running and you need to use a studio ill make sure you get discounts

oh and im not the one makeing the beats my cousin is for the most part
80 grand just go threw the sweetwater book and pick what u want lol
damn, 80k thats just cruel. Make sure u get a Neumann U87 or 3 of em. I would definitely get a Mac Pro hands down, and Pro Tools HD3 with a couple of 192 interfaces. Make sure to get a couple of LA2As, LA3As, some SSL stuff, a couple of AKG mics, and definitely some nice guitars ;-)
Personally I use an MPC 200XL (which I highly recommend) a micro korg synth, 2 turntables, a mixer and I'm soon to be getting a MacBook Pro with Logic studio 9 and probably the Apogee Duet A/D coverter to replace my Boss digital 8 track recorder
